jill - The guy who owns our gym (former MMA guy) was talking to me when I signed up and he was saying that 5 pounds of muscle burns and extraordinary amount of calories a day...DOING NOTHING!!! So yeah, with muscle mass comes more calories being burnt! Yay!

I do the "can I look good by the summer time" thing too. In the winter, a nice chunky sweater hides so much that when you put on a summer shirt it's like "WHOA! Where did that tummy come from!?!?". LOL!

i always do a double take when i see someone my age with a baby. or ESPECIALLY someone younger than me. it's like, wow when did they get a baby sister.. oh wait.. yeah, its THEIR kid. holy F#ing heL! i guess that means I'm still young huh if i think i'm too young to have kids? i dont know, anyway, i get how you're feeling. and i hope you can get 'working out' totally fit into your life. i have been following along with a tv program and i may have lost a couple of pounds, but mostly i've gained lean muscle and strength, which is AWESOME, and truly, weight loss, SHOULD come from the lean muscle a bit later on. now i'm pondering a summer vacation, can i look good enough by then for a bikini? hmm..

Carina - yes...6 is definitely a lot! But a few of them tie in together so I'm hoping that will help me not be too overwhelmed. The no slouching thing is excellent! I've been trying to do that since I got my back all straightened out. Used to be that kind of slouching was the only comfortable way for me to sit sometimes. Now I try to sit up straight when I sit and stand. (when I think about it!) Good luck! :)

rhiannon - a big bowl of chocolate? I could use that right about now! LOL And taking a picture that is frame-worthy is a great resolution! I think we should all do that.

I guess I made two resolutions. One is the same one that I made last year... and sets the bar pretty low. It was simply to cut out all alcohol and most processed sugar and added sugar, for two weeks. Just to get me past the BIG bowl of chocolate that my mother-in-law left, and the copious amounts of wine that I had been drinking.

The second is to take one picture that is worthy of framing.

My new year's resolution is a bit odd. I am going to try to stand/walk/sit straighter. My boyfriend says I slouch to much and I slouch like my mom! But that is it, just one.
Six is a lot of resolutions to keep up...I hope you succeed!
